Watch the trailer for Funny or Die’s upcoming iSteve biopic

Will Ferrell’s comedy website, Funny or Die , is working on a biopic of Steve Jobs starring Justin Long, who played opposite John Hodgman in Apple’s popular “Get a Mac” advertising campaign . Titled iSteve, the hour-long film will make its debut on April 15th on the Funny or Die website. To promote its movie, Funny or Die released a trailer that you can watch below.

Activist, RSS creator Aaron Swartz dead at 26

On Friday, the 26-year-old polymath Aaron Swartz was found dead in his apartment, the result of an apparent suicide. Swartz contributed his intellect and effort to an astonishing number of technologies and political causes, including collaborating on Reddit’s early development. At the age of 14, Swartz co-authored the 1.0 version of the RSS specification, enabling millions of news sites and blogs to share their posts easily and consistently

iPhone projected to gain market share over next 4 years, but remain in 2nd place

A lot of things can change in just a year in the world of mobile communications, so predicting where the major smartphone platforms will be four years down the road is tricky. Nevertheless, BGR reports that the International Data Corporation has made its official predictions for how smartphone ownership trends will look in 2016, and surprisingly there isn’t a whole lot of change.

iTunes Music Store finally coming to Russia tomorrow?

While the iTunes Music Store has been in many countries for a long time, it hasn’t been available in Russia. It’s beginning to look as if Russia may finally get its own iTunes Music Store as soon as tomorrow, according to a post on our sister site TechCrunch. TechCrunch’s Ingrid Lunden reports that the site was forwarded an email in Russian that notes that an iTunes event is scheduled for the evening of December 4, that it will be a “musical evening,” and that it’s an invitation-only event held at the GUM shopping center on Red Square in Moscow.

Some new iMacs "Assembled in USA"?

Lost in yesterday’s writeup of the iFixit 21.5-inch iMac was this small line in the description: “Interestingly, this iMac claims to have been assembled in the USA.” Sure enough, a look at the iFixit image of the back of the iMac shows the fascinating line “Designed in California. Assembled in USA”.
